Learning Programs
“Poor communication” is the number one issue in most organisations. When we hear this “catch all” phrase we like to dig a little deeper as the word “communication” can represent many things including
- too much communication of the wrong type of information;
- no information so individuals believe there is “no leadership”;
- mixed messages from across the business so it leaves employees confused;
- communication that says little or uses management jargon that people don’t understand; or
- communication that has little relevance to the issues facing employees as they go about their work.
Core to all of these communication issues is the way people understand what is communicated to them. If people don’t understand then they are unable to make a decision and if a decision is made it is typically a poor decision. Decision making is quickly joining communication as the top issues in organisations.
Our skill development programs provide participants with practical tools to help them communicate so that they are understood. In 2011 we also introduced a decision making program series focused at senior executives and managers.
Our core programs include:
- Getting Work Done - How to influence others
- Evidence Based Communication Skills
- Engaging Employees through Dialogue and Deliberation
- Collaboration, Deliberation and Negotiation Skills
- Workshop Facilitation Skills
- Presenting with Confidence
- Mastering the Presentation Stage
- Decision Making for Executives
Many of our clients have also asked us to design specific programs for them such as Performance Development for an academic institution (both those conducting the review and those in the review), a combined influencing/communication skills program for a human resources division of a large transport company and an ethics program for a manufacturing company.
Your program facilitator is Isabella Allan, Director of Sage Allan who leads the learning programs based on the following experience and qualifications:
- diploma in Voice and Drama (Trinity College of London - ATCL);
- graduate certificate in Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Engagement (Fielding University USA);
- senior executive experience in negotiating major telecommunications infrastructure installment, lobbying Federal and State governments on various environmental issues and major international hedged metal contracts.
- over twenty years of experience in communication skills training;
- over twenty years of experience in facilitating business issue workshops;
- over fifteen years in delivering adult learning programs; and
- a key note speaker and master of ceremonies at major business conferences
In 2011 we introduced two new initiatives into the practice:
- a specialist program for “Women In Leadership” - to ensure women bring the best communication principles to their approach to business; and
- Open Learning Program series - these are some of our selected core programs that we have adjusted for an open forum discussion.
